Kicking off Season 4 of the original Canucks podcast, Dave Thorvald and Dan Funboy discuss the new - mostly-unknown - players, prospects, free agents and l'affaire Sundin, and Gillis' strategy, plus speak about Linden's sweater, Luc's demise, Rickard's brewpub and the Molson Brew 2.0 event.

Besides other brew chatter (including Beerfest, Rogue Dead Guy ale, Howe Sound pothole filler stout, Phillip's Slipstream Cream Ale ...), they discuss the Olympic venues under construction including sliding track, biathlon and x-country courses, and ski jumps, in the Whistler area as well as curling, speed skating oval and hockey rinks in Vancouver and freestyle/snowboard events at Cypress. Finally, they offer up strategy on tickets and tips for enjoying the 2010 Olympic experience.

Dave is also heard on The Crazy Canucks with Radio John, Miss 604, Alanah, & J.J.

As mentioned in a previous post, ... Canada's Governor-General, Michaëlle Jean (a Haitian refuge who immigrated to Quebec as a child), and Vancouver Mayor Mayor Sam Sullivan were on hand - along with a phalanx of officers of everykind - to reveal the 1952 Oslo Winter Olympic flag.

Then, Dave relates anecdotes about his own drug testing experience and gives thanks to Ross for inspiring the people.

Bleary-eyed after waking for the 4AM face-off, Dave Thorvald discusses the opening game of the Olympic hockey tournament in which Canada beat Italy 7-2 - After a slow start, Canada turned on the jets versus a hardworking and speedy, but overmatched host squad. Bertuzzi, Iginla and St. Louis had particularly nice games.

In other hockey news, Slovakia (thanks to 2 late golas by Marian Gaborik) beat Russia, Czech beat Germany (though uber-goalie Dominik Hasek sustained an injury) and mid-way through the 3rd period, Latvia and USA are tied at 3. Go Latvia!
